Are you trying to find ways to feel closer to God?
Open yourself up to spirituality. Research reveals that holier people tend to feel happier because their beliefs bring meaning into their lives.
Not sure how? Read on to learn how to live a more spiritual lifestyle.
Practice Gratitude
The Lord Jesus Christ sacrificed his one and only son for us to live lives of sin and still find forgiveness. He made this beautiful world around us with so much to feel thankful for.
Practice gratitude to feel closer to God. Give thanks often and out loud, even for the simplest of things.
For instance, thank the Lord when a breeze cools you in the summer sun. Wake up every morning and think of something to say thank you for.
Make a practice of saying grace at dinnertime, too. You can give thanks for your food alone or include family and friends.
Give
Do you remember how Jesus lived? He gave his possessions to the poor and offered people he wronged more than he owed them.
Live a little more like Jesus by giving what you can. Donate to a cause led by American Steeples or your local community that feels right.
Look for local food drives, thrift stores, and other non-profits that take new and used goods. Remove the clutter from your life by giving away things you do not use or need.
Offer your time with volunteer work. Working with others helps you build a great amount of compassion.
Song and Dance
The Bible talks of the angels singing. Music brings us closer to the Lord, which is why many churches begin with praise and worship.
Psalms 149:3-4 says to allow the people to praise his name by dancing. This type of moving meditation also brings you into a spiritual trance.
Sing songs of praise to God and dance freely to them. Do this daily and feel the holy spirit move through you.
