A constellation of stars will assemble at The Economic Times Awards for Corporate Excellence on Saturday that will be presided over by top union ministers. Chief guest Rajnath Singh, minister of defence, will be joining guest of honour Nirmala Sitharaman, who as finance minister is also the winner of the Business Reformer of the Year award, at the glittering ceremony in Mumbai.India Inc will have the opportunity to hear the finance minister speak at a very interesting juncture for the economy, which is poised to grow at near 8% in the current fiscal despite multiple headwinds of rising inflation, geopolitical uncertainty stemming from the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and high fuel, edible oil and commodities prices.

Singh will speak on the government’s overall economic performance, focus and perspective, especially in light of the Ukraine war and its fallout. As defence minister, he is also steering a big shift in the sector – from being import-dependent to becoming Atmanirbhar (self-reliant).

Their audience – as always at ET Awards – will be India Inc’s top guns, along with winners and jury members, all present to celebrate the country’s business success stories. Watch this space as we bring you more details and full coverage of India’s most coveted business awards.
