Synopsis
The IITs of Kanpur, Delhi, Madras, Bombay, Roorkee and Hyderabad, among others, are stepping up initiatives to engage with alumni, corporates and philanthropists to raise funds for growth needs.
Fundraising efforts are gaining momentum across India’s premier engineering colleges. Earlier this month, Indigo co-founder Rakesh Gangwal donated Rs 100 crore towards the School of Medical Sciences and Technology at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, one of the largest personal donations from an alumnus.
A little over a week later, this was followed up by another $2.5 million (Rs 19 crore) contribution from the Anil and Kumud Bansal
