Govt launches integrated pensioner’s portal: How to access Bhavishya portal, services that can be availed

Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (IC) Ministry of Science and Technology; Minister of State (IC) Ministry of Earth Science; MoS of Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions launched the Integrated Pensioners’ Portal on October 18, 2022. According to a PIB press release, the government developed Bhavishya 9.0 portal in collaboration with State Bank of India (SBI) with the intention of enhancing the “Ease of Living” for Central Government Pensioners.

Soon, the remaining 16 pension disbursing institutions will also begin integrating with the Integrated Pensioners Portal.

“During the launch, Dr Jitendra Singh said, BHAVISHYA, a Portal for Pension Payment and Tracking System is being integrated with Pension Seva portal of SBI and this would enable Pensioners to get all information and services at one place with single login. On completion of all phases of this integration the retirees can choose a Bank and Branch for opening an online Pension Account, check their monthly pension slips, Form 16, Status of Life Certificate as well as change their Pension Disbursing Bank through BHAVISHYA,’ stated the PIB release.

According to the Bhavishya website, below are the important things pensioners should know.

What is Bhavishya?

‘Bhavishya’ is an initiative of Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare, which is launched with the goal to ensure payment of all retirement dues and delivery of Pension Payment Order (PPO) to retiring employees on the day of retirement itself. The system provides online tracking of pension sanction and payment process by the individual as well as the administrative authorities for all actions preparatory to grant pension and other retirement benefits as well as payment of monthly pension after retirement.

The system also allows individual to download ePPO and eSSA. It also allows the individual to store ePPO in DigiLocker.

How to access Bhavishya portal ?

Bhavishya portal can be accessed through its website https://bhavishya.nic.in . Retiring Employee will receive login id and password through E-mail and SMS automatically. DDO & HOO are required to register themselves online on Bhavishya portal for login id and password.

Is it mandatory to follow the timelines?

Yes, it is mandatory to follow the timelines as prescribed in the CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972 and subsequent orders issued from time to time by the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare.

Whether retiring employee can change the uploaded scanned images (Single photograph, Joint photograph and Signature) ?

Yes, retiring employee can replace the previously uploaded photograph with the new one, before submitting forms to HOO.

Can retiring employee edit his/her details after submitting pension forms to HOO ?

No, after submitting pension forms, HOO has to return back the forms if further necessary changes required in retiring employee forms.

How can retiring employee get his/her details (Name, PAN, Date of Joining, Date of Birth, Date of Retirement, Designation, Gender) corrected in Bhavishya?

The details (Name, PAN, Date of Joining, Date of Birth, Date of Retirement, Designation, Gender) first needs to be corrected in service book and salary package via DDO or HOO and only then changes will be reflected in Bhavishya portal via salary package.
