The love for premium cars is an open secret for one of India’s richest families.

Asia’s second-richest man Mukesh Ambani’s fleet of cars includes luxury vehicles such as Maybach 62, Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe, Bentley Bentaygas and Range Rover Vogue, among others.

Recently, Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani borrowed his father’s brand new Bentley Bentayga V8 to meet his friends and Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s apartment ‘Vastu’ in Bandra suburb’s Pali Hill. The video that went viral showed the telecom boss driving the luxury car with his wife Shloka Mehta sitting next to him. The couple were twinning in white.

The details of the visit were not known.

Earlier in July, the Chairman of Reliance Industries Limited added a white-coloured Bentayga V8 to his fleet of cars. This is his third Bentley Bentayga, according to reports.

Bentley only offers Bentayga V8, which was spotted outside ‘Antilia’ in 2021, in India.

The Ambanis already own two other Bentaygas in brown and racing green colours from the W12 family. Reportedly, the second richest Indian family were the first to receive the W12 variant in India. It is said to be the only Bentley in the country to come with the Breitling Mulliner Tourbillion watch – priced at around Rs 1 crore. This version comes with a 6.0-litre W12 petrol engine. The W12 variant is priced at around Rs 3.85 crore in India.

The British luxury car brand unveiled the 2021 V8 edition during the start of the pandemic.

Priced at a whopping Rs 4.10 crore, the luxury SUV boasts of a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine or a 3.0-litre hybrid. It features a 3996cc engine and has a mileage of 7.6kmpl, according to the company.

The SUV also offers features such as a next-generation infotainment system with a 10.9-inch screen, super-high-resolution graphics and dramatically increased connectivity.

The 2021 Bentayga was built on the popularity of the first-generation model, of which more than 20,000 examples have now been handcrafted. “No other SUV can compete with the Bentayga when it comes to craftsmanship, comfort or sheer exhilaration,” the automobile manufacturer says on its website.
